A Legacy

Generosity and compassion that changes and improves lives.
Through the years, we have boldly taken on some of this region’s most challenging needs. Evolving, expanding, moving forward to impact health so that all people in our community can thrive.

Visionaries

Andreas Mitchell Miller

Described as determined, with a strong sense of civic responsibility, Andreas Mitchell Miller left the majority of his estate to the city of Duluth to build Miller Memorial Hospital, a free and public hospital.

Mary Carufel Dwan

Philanthropist Mary C. Dawn gave more than seed money for hospital expansion and the creation of a new foundation. She inspired generations of families to follow her lead—and share life-saving medicine that will continue to be felt for generations to come.

We carry these legacies and the legacies of our donors in our hearts and in our actions—a legacy you and your family can share—in ways that forever touch our region.

We thank our donors and supporters. You share our passion for possibility. You dare to believe that doing more is just what you do.
